Enter and View: Ward A14, New Cross Hospital

Our report following a visit to Ward A14 at New Cross Hospital in Wolverhampton.

Healthwatch Wolverhampton receive feedback on a range of services and treatments received at New Cross Hospital. This was an announced Enter and View visit which was conducted to observe the negatives and positives of the Ward.

Summary of Findings

Patients said that their dignity and privacy was well maintained. Staff are very friendly and helpful, and they address the patients by their name. Recommendations:

  • Make sure that the patients’ buzzers are working.
  • Try to solve the patients’ needs while they are in hospital without sending them somewhere else after discharge.
  • Ensure dementia signage, awareness is available to make it easy for dementia patients to access different services.
  • Ensure that staff are aware of safeguarding and the process.
