Enter and View: Ward A12, New Cross Hospital

Healthwatch Wolverhampton receive feedback on a range of services and treatments received at New Cross Hospital. This was an unannounced Enter and View visit which was conducted following feedback from patients regarding the level of care that they were receiving while on the ward.

Summary of Findings

Upon arrival at the Reception, it was not immediately clear what the role of ward A12 was. We asked the receptionist and were told “it’s the Female General Surgery ward”.

This was a positive visit, as evidenced by the observation of the Authorised Representatives on how the staff dealt with the patients, ensuring their dignity was respected at all times. We had only one recommendation to help enhance the care and safety that is currently being given to the patients.
