Enter and View: Wrottesley Park House Care Home

Our report following a visit to the Wrottesley Park House Care Home in the Tettenhall area of Wolverhampton, which provides specialist care options.

This was an unannounced Enter and View visit which was conducted in response to feedback Healthwatch Wolverhampton received about the home. Following a Care Quality Commission (CQC) inspection the site was rated as requiring improvement on a number of areas including safe environment, caring and responsive service. Our previous Enter and View visit in February 2017 also highlighted concerns about the delivery of services and the impact a refurbishment was having on residents, so this was an opportunity to revisit.

The home provides a range of specialist care options for loved ones which can met the needs of young physically disabled adults, brain injuries, mental health care, general nursing and people with learning disabilities.

Summary of Findings

Overall the home was found to be clean, decorated to a high standard with good quality furniture and fittings. Staff appeared to be pleasant, well-informed, and attentive to the residents, displaying a high level of care and attention. Recommendations:

  • Home name and signage could be looked at and improved.
  • Remind residents of Residents Meetings.

This report was produced by the previous Healthwatch Wolverhampton service provider, Engaging Communities Solutions CIC.
