Tell us about your experience of booking appointments on your GP website

What do we want to know?

We want to know if you use your GP website to book appointments with your GP or other health professionals. If you don’t, we’d like to know why.  If you do, we want to understand how you book appointments online, what you like about the process, and whether you think there are things that could be done differently to make it easier to get the care you need.

Why are we asking?

Concern about access to GP services continues to be one of the most common themes people raise with us. There is also a wealth of national and local evidence highlighting the challenges people face when booking a GP appointment, including the use of digital technology, GP phone booking systems, waiting times, a lack of face to face appointments, and staff attitude.

Previously, we investigated how easy it is for people to book GP appointments by phone and reported to the NHS in Wolverhampton to support improvements to GP phone booking systems. As patients are increasingly encouraged to book appointments online, we are expanding our investigation to help improve booking via GP websites.

Your feedback will make a difference

Good access to GP services is an important measure of the quality of care being provided locally. Your feedback will help us identify the strengths and weaknesses in the current GP booking processes. We will share our findings with those responsible for GP services in Wolverhampton to help them improve access to GP care.
