There are a number of different roles that are available and you don’t need any previous experiences of these roles or in health or social care as you will be fully supported and provided with any information or training needed.
The roles currently available are:
Chairperson and Deputy Chair
These roles are responsible for leading Youth Healthwatch meetings and making sure that everyone has an opportunity to have their say and get involved in discussions.
They will also represent Youth Healthwatch at the Healthwatch Wolverhampton Advisory Board (HAB) meetings which are held every 3 months, ensuring that the views of young people are represented at our Board.
Social Media and Website Member
This role will be responsible for running the social media channels of Youth Healthwatch, keeping them up to date and responding to any comments or questions. It will also work along side our Engagement and Information Lead to update and contribute to the Youth Healthwatch section on the website.
Outreach and Engagement Member
This is a key role which will include going out in the community, visiting services and talking to young people about their experiences of using these services.
Healthwatch attends a wide range of groups and events to raise awareness and gather peoples feedback.
Enter and View Authorised Representative
Healthwatch organisations have the power to Enter and View health and social care services to observe services being delivered and to talk to service users, their family or carer and staff members. This helps to identify good practice as well as any potential areas for improvement.
Authorised Representatives are trained to carry out these visits.
The role would support the work of Youth Healthwatch by providing administrative support to the other roles mentioned. This would include typing, report writing, data entry, and research. It would also provide additional support to the Healthwatch team.
