Lockdown Measures Updated

From the 13th May the lockdown measures will be changing in line with the Governments 3 step plan. This plan is conditional based on the rate of infections and other measures and could change.

The government slogan is now “Stay Alert, Control the Virus, Save Lives”.

What does stay alert mean:

  • Stay at home as much as possible
  • Work from home if you can
  • Limit contact with other people
  • Keep a minimum of 2 meters apart when you go out
  • Wash your hands regularly
  • If you or anyone in your household has symptoms, you all need to self-isolate

What are the changes:

  • If you can work from home, you should do so
  • If you cannot work from home, you should contact your employer and find out if they are now open, do you need to go into work and what measures will you need to follow

  • You are now able to exercise outside of your household an unlimited amount of times a day, as long as you follow social distancing rules
  • You are now allowed to enjoy parks and public spaces without exercising

  • You are now freely able to travel around England
  • You must return home the same day, you cannot go camping or stay in another part of the country overnight
  • Wales, Scotland and Northern Ireland’s rules have not changed. You are not able to cross the borders as doing so would break the laws in the other nations and you could face a fine of up to £3000

Meeting people:

  • You are now able to meet one person from outside your household – this includes members of your family who do not live in the same household as you
  • You must meet in a park or other large open space
  • This does not include your garden – meeting in your garden would be breaking the rules
  • If you do meet someone at the park, and you come across more friends or family members, you are not allowed to congregate- you are only allowed to meet one to one
